The Big Search

Dionne Greenhill

We are here because we want something we've never had ...

We are here because we want something we've never had ...

We are here because we want something we've never had ...

I'm having a Peter moment. Lord, bid me come, but I'm afraid. Lord, bid me come, but I have a human tendency to look down. Lord, bid me come because I want to look into your eyes and see and do what I've never seen or done before.

I may drown.

I may drown.

I may drown,

But for one moment--for one milli-second--for one brief opportunity--

I may walk on water.

And if I walk on water ...

And if I walk on water ...

I may walk on the water of worship.

Why though?

Because I love a God that I do not really know.

And it bothers and hurts and aches me so.

That a man, a God, a Spirit

That I have dedicated my life to ...

That I have respected with my life as a sacrifice ...

That I have spent years of my life in search of ...

I can not identify in a line up.

Where is my Beloved?

Because the truth is

I can't find Him or identify Him on my own.

So if I do what I've never done

And if this brings me closer to Him

Closer to actually knowing Him,

Then looking strange

And acting wierd

Will have been worth it.

"As long as we keep open to the Spirit by obediance and appropriate faith, we can receive new infillings, new outpourings, new floodings of our innermost beings."

Wesley L. Duewel

"The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." Psalm 119:130

There is such a depth in God, and we're just scratching the surface. Turth doesn't penetrate us yet. We recite, "The LORD is my shepard, I shall not want." But here I am wanting.

We must have another infilling. The Holy Spirit must push by our robe of flesh. We must never be satisfied; we must always want more.

"Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things that you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3

Push aside everything that isn't Him. Let there be light.
