What are the
last words of advice to Solomon from his father?
The Bible states in I Chronicles 28:9, “As for you, my son Solomon,
know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart; for the LORD looks at all hearts and understands all your thoughts.
If you seek Him, you will find Him; but if you leave Him, He will cast you off forever.
Often, we are given advice from
our parents, teachers, pastors and friends. However, how often have you heard words that will lead you
to know your God and serve Him with a loyal heart? Can we honestly say that we know God? Or
how can we serve Him with a loyal heart, if we don’t really understand or comprehend who He is? Solomon’s
father (David) was about to leave him forever and I am sure he thought very carefully for these were the last words said to
his son before death. Let’s take the time this month to seek the LORD until we find Him.
Let’s make it a point when we pray, read and study His Word, to ask God to reveal who He is to us.
Do you want to be more loyal? Do you want to find Him when you seek Him or do you want to leave
Him (God)? Remember, “For the LORD looks at all hearts and understands all your thoughts.”
What
do you have in your heart today?
